Paid Time Off


Paid Time Off (PTO) Days:

All employees are eligible for PTO. Newly hired employees are not eligible to take leave until 90 days of service is completed. PTO can only be taken in 1-hour increments.
PTO Accrual Rates:
Part-Time and Seasonal Employees will receive 1 hour of PTO for every 30 hours worked up to 40 hours per 12-month period.
Full-Time Employees will receive:

A year of service occurs on the employee’s hire date anniversary.
There is no rollover deadline. The only way you stop accruing PTO is if you have already accrued your annual limit or maximum balance.
Separation of Employment:  Upon the separation of employment for any reason, all accrued and unused PTO shall be forfeited. Departed employees returning to employment with the Company within 180 days of previous employment with the Company will have their PTO balance reinstated to the amount the employee had banked at the time of termination, including any negative balances.

PTO Cash Out Option

PTO will be paid on the next available regularly scheduled payroll date after receiving the request. Employees must have 40 hours of PTO available AFTER the request is processed to be eligible. Employees are eligible for Cash Out Requests 2 times in a 12-month period. PTO Cash Out may not be used in coordination with termination of employment.

Referral Bonus Program


A referral bonus is offered to active Freres Engineered Wood Employees as an incentive to refer friends and family members to come and work for us. If employees refer a candidate that is hired and they successfully complete 90 days of employment, the employee who referred them will receive a $200 bonus on the next regularly scheduled payroll.

Medical*


Full-time employees are eligible after 60 continuous days of employment, on the 1st of the following month. Our plan year is June 1 through May 31 and our Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) is Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon: Regence Innova®. PPO is designed to offer comprehensive coverage when care is provided from network providers.
Under this plan, you have access to the MDLIVE website and app. MDLIVE offers 24/7 health care by phone or video for hundreds of medical and mental health needs.
The overall deductible is $750 individual / $2,250 family per calendar year. The out-of-pocket limit for this plan is $5,000 individual / $10,000 family per calendar year. Premiums and balance-billing charges are not included in the out-of-pocket limit.

Dental*


Full-time employees are eligible on the 1st of the month after 60 continuous days of employment. Our plan year is June 1 through May 31. There are 2 different dental options available: Delta Dental (MODA) and Willamette Dental.
Each plan costs employees the same but coverage may vary.

Disability


Short-Term Disability (STD):
STD provides partial income protection if you are unable to work due to an illness or accident. This benefit provides you with about 60% of your weekly pay up to a maximum of $350 a week.

Life Insurance


Freres provides their employees with life insurance through USAble Life.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)


Freres Engineered Wood offers FSA for both Health and Dependent Care through Pacific Source. The plan year is June 1 through May 31.
The Health FSA maximum contribution for 2024 is $3,200 and the maximum carryover is $640.
The Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) for 2024 maximum is $5,000. These are pre-tax savings for child day care for a dependent age (12 or younger), including costs of camps, and for a spouse or relative that is physically or mentally incapable of caring for themselves.

401k Retirement

Your 401k plan is designed to help you save for retirement with pre-taxed payroll deductions and company contributions. Principal administers the plan.
