Celebrating Freres Wood Families: Family Fun Day 2023

On a warm summer day, we welcomed our employees and their families to our plywood plant for another Family Fun Day!

We loved coming together as one big family to celebrate our employees. The stars of the day were the water slide and dunk tank. When it’s hot, little kids are like magnets to the water activities. Watching them play was fun, and their excitement as they splashed around was the day’s soundtrack.

Another favorite activity was axe throwing with Smoking Axes, a local Lyons gem. It was great to have a dash of adrenaline-pumping activity that made for some unforgettable memories. Amidst the fun, we asked singer Britnee Kellog back after her wonderful performance last year. She was great, as usual, and made the day even more special.

One of the standout reasons why we decided to host this event on our premises is the opportunity our employees have to show their families what they do. It wasn’t just about fun and games. It was a moment of pride. Employees could walk their families and friends through the plywood plant, explaining what their role is in the manufacturing process and in the context of plywood production.

With a staggering 600 RSVPs, the day was bustling with energy, laughter, and camaraderie. This year’s Family Fun Day was a testament to the Freres Wood strength and spirit. As we look forward to more events like this, we remain thankful for the dedication of our employees and the unwavering support of our community.

We would be remiss to not thank all the vendors who turned up and played an instrumental role in making the day a huge success. Thank you to all of our vendors and our staff for taking time on their weekend to meet with employees. And a special thank you to companies Roehl and Yi Investment Advisors, Umpqua Bank, Willamette Dental, Delta Dental, and USAble Life, who didn’t just attend but also generously provided prizes and goodies for our employees.
