Utility – Plant 6
The Wood Products Utility Worker is an entry-level position responsible for supporting daily operations in our wood processing facility. This role involves a variety of hands-on tasks to ensure efficient production, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and assist with basic equipment operation. Ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, teamwork, and learning about the wood products industry. This is a full-time position with opportunities for advancement.
Shipping Specialist
The Shipping Specialist reports to the Plant Manager/Shift Supervisor and will provide support with the shipping, loading and transportation of manufactured panels.
Electrician Journeyman
Will provide process controls and PLC support at all Freres Manufacturing Facilities. They will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all facility electrical control systems, all PLC controls networking, and HMI systems.
CNC Operator
The CNC Operator reports to the Plant Manager/ Shift Supervisor and will provide support in programming, setting up, and operating the computer numerical control (CNC) machine in support of manufacturing operations, specifically for the Mass Plywood Plant. The CNC Operator will maintain quality and safety standards pertinent to this machine center and maintain records for equipment supplies.
This position will train on day shift, but will move to swing shift, once training completed.
Accountant
Freres Engineered Wood is a dynamic and innovative forest products manufacturer that’s revolutionizing the mass timber market with its newly patented Mass Ply Panel (MPP) product. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join our team to and assist us in taking the Company to the next level. The Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for assisting in maintaining and reconciling balance sheets and ledger accounts, preparing financial analyses and reports, collaborating with various internal departments.
FORESTER
The Forester position reports to the Timber Manager, requires a degree in forestry, and encompasses a range of responsibilities aimed at managing and maintaining forested areas. The role involves effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with stakeholders, groups, and individuals including landowners, government agencies, and community members. The ability to work well independently and with a team is crucial for success. Proficiency in utilizing GPS, directional compasses, and topography maps is essential for navigating forested terrain and conducting day to day tasks. Key responsibilities include conducting high-quality timber cruises, accurately identifying species, and grading logs. The successful candidate will demonstrate self-directed work ethic, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to sustainable forestry practices.
Freres Engineered Wood is actively seeking to expand its team by adding a skilled Forester to its department in Lyons, Oregon. As a crucial member of the team, the selected candidate will primarily focus on timber sale acquisition, utilizing their expertise as a timber cruiser, alongside engaging in diverse job functions. This role offers a dynamic blend of field and office work, with approximately 80% of the time spent outdoors conducting timber cruising and assessments, and the remaining 20% dedicated to office-based tasks. This full-time exempt position offers a competitive salary based on candidate’s skills, experience and education level.
Quality Assurance Technician 1
The Quality Assurance Technician 1 reports to the MPP Plant Manager/ Technical Director. Quality Assurance Technicians are responsible for testing materials and finished products to
ensure they conform to all applicable laws and company standards. Quality Assurance Technicians test products across the three stages of production (before, in-process, and final) to ensure quality levels are met.
Positions will train on day shift, but may ultimately move to swing shift.
Road Engineer Forester
Freres Engineered Wood is seeking to hire a full-time Road Engineer Forester to join our team. This position reports to the Timber Manager and is responsible for building and maintaining forest roads on federal, state and private timberlands.

Scarf Line Operator
The Scarf Line Operator is responsible for operating the scarf line in our MPP manufacturing facility, reporting directly to the Plant Manager or Shift Supervisor. Primary duties involve scarfing large laminated panels; cutting precise joints, applying glue, pressing, and curing the joints. followed by sanding, cutting, and stacking. This role plays a critical part in producing high-quality Mass Plywood Panels (MPP), an innovative, patented building material.
Millwright
Millwrights repair, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on veneer and plywood machinery and are responsible for the maintenance of the mill and processes during a shift
Production Worker – Plant 3 (Mill City)
As a Utility Worker you will play a vital role in operating and supporting various machinery essential to the manufacturing process. This entry-level position requires adaptability and a proactive approach to learning different job functions across the production floor. You will be cross trained in multiple roles to build expertise and will be placed were production demands are highest. Once you have developed the necessary skills, you will have the opportunity to bid for higher-level positions when they become available, which may come with increased pay. The work environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with assignments based on current needs. Employees should expect to work five days, occasionally six days a week in 8-hour shifts, contributing to a team-oriented and physically demanding setting that values reliability and flexibility.
Employees may be trained to work in one or all of the following titles: Dryer Feeder, Dryer Grader, or LUL Patcher. Utility P3 is an entry level position and on-the-job training is provided.
Utility – Summer Intern Plant 3
The Utility – Summer Intern position provides general support for maintenance and upkeep of Plant 3. This role is responsible for assisting with facility improvements, general labor tasks, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Interns will work under direct supervision and gain valuable hands-on experience in an industrial setting, with additional work opportunities in the Fabrication and Machine Shop for both positions.
Summer Internship – Fabrication Shop
Freres Engineered Wood is offering two Summer Internship positions in the Fabrication Shop. These internships provide an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with industrial wood manufacturing equipment and other related processes. The first position will focus on participating in all aspects of fabrication and gaining insight into how fabricated parts are used across different departments. The second position will involve inventorying, labeling, data entry, organizing, and other supporting tasks. Depending on skills and knowledge exhibited, there may be opportunities for additional work within the Fabrication and Machine shop for both positions.
